2012 Greenhough Hope Vineyard Pinot Blanc
$ 30.77
A Pinot Blanc from a block The Hope Vineyard wines are made from hand-picked, organically cultivated vines. They express with integrity the character of a single vineyard, a variety and a vintage. The Hope Vineyard Pinot Blanc is produced in very small quantities from a block of vines originally planted in 1976 and younger vines planted in 2003. Yields are kept low to ensure maximum fruit concentration. All grapes were harvested by hand and pressed as whole grapes. The must was weaned very briefly to remove the heaviest solids before being transferred to used French oak barrels. Primary and secondary malolactic fermentation occurred spontaneously, without inoculation. Maturation lasted 18 months, with regular stirring of the yeast set during this time. And this is how Greenhough’s Hope Vineyard Pinot Blanc tastes The Greenhough Hope Vinyard Pinot Blanc shows seductive aromas of citrus blossoms and white stone fruit, star anise and hints of biscuit. On the palate a delicate combination of ripe tangerine, Williams pear and white peach with gingerbread spice in the finish. The wine has a creamy mouthfeel, which is balanced by an elegant mineral freshness. A complex, generous wine with remarkable balance and animating finale.
